Each paper is allocated a specific session (forenoon or afternoon) and lasts 3 hours.

3. Who Can Apply – Eligibility Criteria

Basic Eligibility

1. Educational Qualification
   • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, or related fields.
   • Degrees include B.E., B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Sc., or equivalent.
   • Master’s degree holders are also eligible.
2. Year of Qualification
   • Candidates who have completed their degree or are in the final or pre-final year can apply.
3. Nationality
   • Indian nationals and candidates from selected countries (e.g., Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Singapore, UAE) may apply.
4. Number of Papers
   • Candidates can appear in one or two GATE papers as per approved combinations.

There is no age limit for GATE.
